Mireille Roobaert

GG – We would like to know what you do think about your photography, what meanings, and messages you put.

I adopted the new tools of photography, which freed my gesture towards artistic expression. Virtually offers the infinity actually, I sculpts the image, shape the message, explore the endless spectrum of retouching possibilities.  Uninhibited digital is the open-ended image.

GG – Drawings: who or what inspires you? Anything at all? Or rather, are certain things that you think about when you are beginning your art?

Harold Ancart, Francis Bacon, Kandinsky, Delvaux, the architects Le Corbusier above all and Oscar Niemeyer, and for sure, Franck Gehry and many others more or less known.

GG – what is your earliest childhood memory?

I don’t know, but I do remember receiving a NIKON reflex from my father for my 12th birthday!

GG – Which artist of the past would you most like to meet?

Oscar Niemeyer, Le Corbusier, Nicéphore Niepce, William Klein, Philippe Starck, Caravage, Jim Morrison, Salgado (I met him last year), Helmut Newton, Annie Leibovitz, Martin Parr, Nan Goldin, Candida Hoffer, etc…
